About the project
The aims of this project are to evaluate direct and in-direct impacts of non-indigenous species on kākahi by:
- Determining host attachment of mussel larvae (glochidia) to selected non-native fishes;
- Quantifying the effects of habitat alteration by non-native macrophyte beds on post-larval life stages of mussels;
It is envisaged that this PhD will provide information, methods and strategies for kākahi management at key locations to reduce impacts of non-indigenous species.
